Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 5, 2026

1. Information We Collect

WordMaster does not require account registration. We do not collect personal identifying information such as your name, email, or address during gameplay.

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized usage data (pages visited, session duration, device type, general geographic region) to help us understand how the game is used and improve it over time. This data does not personally identify you.

When you submit the contact form, you voluntarily provide your name and email address. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not stored on our servers beyond the email delivery.

2. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to store your game statistics (games played, win streak, guess distribution) locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser and is never sent to our servers.

We use a session cookie to remember your language preference (English or Korean). This cookie contains no personal data and expires when you close your browser.

Third-party services we use (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) may set their own cookies. You can manage or opt out of these cookies via your browser settings or Google Ad Settings.

3. Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show personalized ads based on your browsing history across websites. WordMaster does not control which ads are displayed.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time via Google Ad Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.

WordMaster participates in the Google AdSense program. Our publisher ID is ca-pub-3911396624649383.

4. Data Retention

Game statistics stored in your browser's localStorage remain until you clear your browser data. We do not retain any personal data on our servers. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per Google's default settings.

5. Third-Party Links

Our blog and game pages may contain links to external websites (e.g., BBC News for the News Word Challenge). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We recommend reading their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

6. Children's Privacy

WordMaster is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), or other privacy laws to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Since we collect minimal personal data and store game statistics only in your own browser, most of these rights can be exercised directly by clearing your browser data. For any other requests, contact us below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of WordMaster after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Contact
